Hey OSS, do you have clothing you don’t wear anymore? The Sustainable Orillia Youth Council is running a clothing swap and are accepting lightly used and clean clothing donations. This could include T-shirts, jeans, hoodies, etc.
Donations will be taken in the front foyer in the big donation bin and will be accepted all of this week. In the week following March break, the donated clothes will be available to browse and take home a new piece of clothing. When donating clothing please record your name on the sheet provided, because donators get first pick on the swap days.
Are you interested in winning $100, $200 or $300? Do you like to draw, paint, or create digital art? If you answered yes to any of the above then this contest is for you! Sustainable Orillia is holding an art competition celebrating Biodiversity in the Orillia area. You can use any medium that you like, pencil, markers, paint, or even digital to create a visual of your favorite Orillia species, or multiple species that you connect with from our local environment.
Please see poster outside room 303, and see Ms Stephens if you have any questions.
HUGS is meeting today in the library for button making. You are welcome to come to the small room in the library at lunch for our weekly gathering. We are looking forward to seeing you all in the library to make buttons, for HUGS at lunch today.
A huge congratulations goes out to Mr Hinsberger's class for being the lucky winners of last week's Polar Bear Kathoot. Smarties should arrive in your class today - and good luck on your math test, hoping it goes as well as the Kahoot did for you!
This Wednesday March 8th is International Women's Day.
This day reminds us that ALL women, from all cultures and all ages, from all walks of life have a place in every aspect of a healthy and thriving society including economic, social and democratic spheres. This year's theme is Every Woman Counts.
Let's celebrate the successes of women around us and remind ourselves that all girl's dreams are within reach. Sadly, Women's Rights are once again under attack in various spaces and international contexts. We also know that Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women continues to be a national emergency, so this is no time to let up on our efforts. If you identify as a woman, go ahead and celebrate yourself! You count and you matter. Being a woman is a powerful thing, let's remember this every day as we birth the world we want to live in.
