As in past years, partnership between the Simcoe County District School Board and local manufacturers has opened up promising opportunities for Grade 11 students interested in taking a look at careers in industry who could be available for summer employment 2020 and who have room in their timetable for a 4-credit co-op SEM 2 of 2020-2021. Together with area employers and a panel of past graduates of the program, OYAP is offering a Parent-Student Information Night to provide learning about careers in precision metal cutting and specifically about the OYAP PMC Program which can include a Level 01 429A General Machinist apprenticeship class at college, spring of 2021.
The brochure below, which OYAP mailed in early January to many Grade 11 students (based on course selection including manufacturing or a combination of maths and sciences), has more details about the application requirements and Employer-Student Program Interview Day on Tuesday, April 7.
