Senior Nighthawks:

If you identify as a Black student, here is an exciting opportunity to engage in a meaningful community event that celebrates diversity and promotes positive change. This year the OPP will be hosting the 32nd annual Association of Black Law Enforcers (A.B.L.E) Scholarships and Awards Gala. This opportunity invites you to volunteer at an  upcoming Gala, providing firsthand experience in a professional setting, engage with leaders in the field, and contribute to a cause that champions justice and equity.

Essay submission deadline is Friday Oct 11th. Any questions, please see Mr Inkumsah, Ms Shatkowski or pick up details from the office.

Meen-oh Gih-shep, OSS, good morning.  Today is an important day of recognition so please take a second to quiet down and listen to this short message...

Today, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to recognize that “Every Child Matters.”

It is also Orange Shirt Day, in which wearing orange can demonstrate our solidarity to support and honour the resiliency, dignity and strength of Indigenous people.

During Period 2 today, we will be holding a sacred fire outside at the back of our school.  All are welcome to join us outside right at the beginning of the period.

Our coming together is to acknowledge and remember those who didn’t make it home, the ones yet to be found, and the ones still living with the history of the pain.

In this way, we can show our unity to all move forward in a good way.  There is still time to sign up in the front office or in Andaayang.  See you during Period 2.  Meeg-wetch.

Humans Understanding Gender and Sexuality (also known as HUGS) is meeting today in room 332. HUGS is a group dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive space for 2SLGBT plus students to talk about their lives and other topics.
