Morning Announcements for September 25, 2026
Posted on 09/25/2026
Hey OSS! Our Terry Fox run is fast approaching and we need your help to reach our goal of $7500. Please look for the QR codes in your classrooms, bring in cash donations to your period two class and send the donation link to everyone you know!
There are jars with teachers’ faces on them in the main office, donate to whatever teacher you wish to see them do the ice bucket challenge. There will be prizes for classes that raise the most money and maybe even teachers shaving their heads.
There will be games to be played and treats to buy the day of the run on Tuesday September 29th.
So bring in your toonies for Terry and together we can find a cure!

Terry Fox Terry Fox Terry Fox!
We are 5 days away from the Terry Fox run on Tuesday! We are sitting about half way to our goal of $7500. With some weekend fundraising from all our students, we can make it! Remember we need to reach our school goal to see Boyden and Duong show down in an 100m sprint...wearing inflatable T-Rex's. If you want to see Mrs. McGarrity shave her head- we need you! Take a moment on lunch today to fill a teachers jar with change in the office to see them get iced on run day! Right  now it is looking like Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Beacock and Mr. Quint are going to be a little chilly completing the run covered in ice water!
And with more exciting developments, Harevy's Orillia will be hosting a BBQ on the run day from Period 2, over lunch! Burgers will be 5$ and a portion of all sales will go back to our run total! Be sure to bring cash for your homeroom class as well as for a burger! There will be other treats like popsicles and candy for sale on the track as well! So why not pickup a couple extra chores/hours this weekend so that you can bring in cash for Terry on Tuesday!

The cross country running team had their first race yesterday in Wasaga Beach.  Congratulations to Ava S. who placed 15th in the Senior girls race, and to Georgia C. had a strong run in the Novice Girls category.  Overall, it was an excellent first race for our team.  Go Nighthawks!  Practice will resume on Monday after school.
