Hot Diggity Dog — the Nighthawks lit up the SCAA playoffs in Barrie yesterday under blazing heat and even hotter competition.
They opened against a powerhouse Collingwood team. Despite the loss, the Hawks found their spark late in the game, building momentum and confidence heading into the next matchup.
Game two against Bear Creek was pure chaos in the best way — huge plays, nonstop back‑and‑forth action, and intensity that never dipped. The battle pushed into overtime, where a massive, contested, highlight‑reel catch through defenders punched the Hawks forward in the tournament.
Then came Nouvelle Alliance — a team that beat the Hawks earlier in the season. Not this time. The Hawks came out firing with tough, disciplined defense and crisp, precision passing. It was a thriller right to the final minute, with the Hawks falling by just one point in a heart‑stopping finish.
They played with grit, skill, and absolute heart all day long, earning a well‑deserved 5th place finish.
Congrats, Nighthawks — you were electric out there.
