Morning Announcements for May 29, 2026
Posted on 05/29/2026

Yesterday, the Nighthawks Slo Pitch team was locked into a defensive battle against St. Joe's for the GBSSA championship.  Despite holding an early lead into the 4th inning, the Nighthawks found themselves down by two into the last inning.  Molly B. scored after hitting her second triple of the day but, unfortunately, the late rally was ended when Ava M. was robbed of a game tying RBI.   Paige B. and Makayla H. were outstanding on the mound and the defense was highlighted by amazing catches from Bergeron and Sophia L. in the outfield.  Despite this, The Nighthawks have still qualified for OFSAA and will play in the provincial championship starting on June 8th.

A huge congratulations to the 32 athletes who competed at OFSAA Central regionals the past 2 days. We have 3 athletes moving on to OFSSA next week.  Liam K. who won the Jr boys sprint hurdles, Makenna F. who placed 2nd in Novice girls discus and 3rd in Javelin and Degan L. who was 4th in novice boys shot put.  The coaches want to thank everyone for their hard work this season and remind everyone to bring their washed jerseys to our team photo on Tuesday at the start of lunch.
