Yesterday the Jr. Girls Flag Football team played their 5th league game of the season against the Innisdale Invaders. The team got off to a sleepy start falling behind by 6 after Innisdale's first drive. But the offence responded immediately as quarterback Paige S. orchestrated a perfect drive that ended in a great Georgia B. TD.
Early in the second half the offence capitalized on a Hollie T. interception with their second TD of the game on an absolutely spectacular catch by Capri M. Unfortunately, Innisdale clawed back into the game tying things up at 12 all. But then Cabot F. took a perfectly paced pass on the run and blew by defenders for a big 60-yard TD. An Ellie S. sack and a Livi W. interception shut down any chance Innisdale had to tie things up.
Congratulations on the great win girls. The team takes their 3-2 record to Nottawasaga Pines Thursday for the final league game.
