Want to help some animals in need? Students for Change is running a Cupcake sale to raise money for our local OSPCA! This sale is TODAY at Lunch and cupcakes are sold for a minimum 2 dollars. They’ve also collaborated with OSS’s Envirohawks to also collect donations of blankets and towels! DO NOT bring any comforters, fitted sheets, hand or face towels; toys are accepted as well! This collection will run all week.
This is a reminder to those trying out for coed volleyball that there is a tryout today at lunch.
Attention Grade 12 ladies!!
There are two different awards available at the moment that you should consider applying for.
The first is the CFUW scholarship for female grade 12 students who have been involved with the school community or community organizations. The application for this one is online and due April 10th.
The second is the Orillia Business Women's Association Young Woman of the Year award. OSS is allowed one nominee for this award and the forms are available in guidance and due back by March 28th!!
If you are planning to attend college next year in one of the trades, consider applying for the Schulich Builders' scholarship. Applications to be one of the OSS nominees are available in guidance and are due by this Friday March 28th.
Have you EVER thought about joining the Military?? Did you know you can join the military thru the School Co-op Program??
This is a Full-Time Co-op, offered during the 2nd Semester next year.
You would:
- Earn 4 High School Credits.
- Make $14,000 under the Paid Co-op.
- Be given an Option to continue working Full-time for the remaining 2+ months of Summer earning an additional $10,000 for a total of $24,000 from 17 Feb 2026 to 7 Sep 2026.
- Get all your military qualifications and be fully trained in your choice of occupation.
This is being offered to any current Grade 11 students or grade 12's who want to return for 12B to complete the program in second semester. If you are in Grade 9 or 10… this is something you can consider and plan for as well. Stop by guidance or speak with one of the co-op teachers for more information.

OSS Spring Semi Formal is taking place on Friday April 11th from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase now on SCHOOLCASH ONLINE ONLY. There are no cash sales.
Tickets are on sale until 4:00 p.m. April 4th.
A current (2024/2025) student I.D. is required to attend.
Guest forms are available in the main office and must be submitted to the office no later than Tuesday April 1st.
