Hey OSS, did you know thousands of Indigenous women and girls have gone missing or been murdered across North America? Many Indigenous communities have been advocating for change to bring more awareness to this issue. Unfortunately, many cases go unreported or are inaccurately documented, which leads to significant underestimation of the problem.
This Friday the students for change club is running a vow of silence initiative to raise awareness for these individuals who have been silenced about topics such as these. The vow of silence consists of not speaking for an entire day to increase understanding for these issues. Let's stand together to honor their lives, amplify their stories, and work collectively to bring justice to those who do not have a voice.
Congratulations to the OSS swim team that competed yesterday at the CCI invitational. The team had many outstanding performances, especially in the relays. Most swimmers had personal bests and the coaches are excited for the opportunities that await at GBSSA in December. Next practice is Sunday at the Rec Centre.
Thank you to all the girls that tried out for the Jr. Girls Volleyball team. The final roster will be posted to the door of room 343 by lunch today.
There will be an alpine ski team workout today at lunch in the fitness centre. Please see Mr. Wheelan or Mr. Petras if you can’t attend.
