Good Morning Grade 12’s,
Just a reminder to continue to check your school email for information and updates for all of your post-secondary pathways enquiries. This week the November edition of the Scholarship Report was released and copies are available in the Guidance Office. Also, applications for the Orillia Secondary School Queen’s University Chancellor’s Award nomination are due to the Guidance Office on November 15 (Next Wednesday). If you have any questions regarding any Post-Secondary information or procedures, simply make a Guidance Appointment and Mr. Scott will help you out.
Can all students who are apart of the Cadet Organization, please meet in the front foyer at the beginning of lunch today.
Use of the library at lunch: Due to the amount of garbage found in the library over the last few weeks, food will no longer be allowed in the library. Please make use of the cafeteria to eat your lunch, and remember to take a moment to put your garbage and recycling in the provided bins.
Any girls interested in playing senior girls volleyball please come by the guidance office today at lunch to sign up for tryouts. If you are unable to attend today at lunch, see Mrs. Couvrette in guidance.

Elder John Rice will be here this Friday during second period and will be in the Library talking about the importance of treaties. Indigenous Veterans' Day is this Wednesday.
The day will be acknowledged during period 2 in the Library to honour our Indigenous veterans.
Mino Ghizhep OSS, the Understanding your Inner Fire cultural program is starting this Wednesday during the lunch hour in the Andaayang. The program is presented by our Indigenous Social Worker, Bridget Foley.
his program helps to understand the challenges of the fast life and learn traditional ways of knowing and being through Anishinabek cultural teachings. All Are Welcome ! See you this Wednesday at lunch
Next week, Elder Jeff Mo-nag will be here next Monday during Period 4 to share his experiences as an Indigenous Veteran.
November 16th is Louis Riel Day.
Metis community member, Scott Carpenter will share more about Metis people and culture during period 2 in the Library on November 15.

OSS students looking for volunteer hours,
The Orillia Volleyball Club is excited to announce that they will be hosting a tournament at Orillia Secondary School on Saturday, December 9th, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. As part of this event, they are seeking enthusiastic student volunteers who are keen on gaining community service hours.
They need of approximately 8 students to assist with scorekeeping, lines, and other essential tasks during the tournament. Even if you are unfamiliar with these responsibilities, they will provide guidance and training.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, drop into the Guidance Office for more information!
