After weather delays, the Baseball team finally opened their season yesterday with a double header. The squad battled Eastview in the opener and clutched out a 3 - 2 win against the Wildcats. The game featured great pitching and solid defense.
The second game was not as successful as the team lost to the defending champions from Bradford. Next action for the crew is Thursday with another double header. Go Hawks!
Are you struggling in one of your classes? Could you use some one-on-one support? There will be tutoring available after school today and tomorrow at lunch in room 306. All are welcome!
Mrs Siecker and Ms Stephens would like to send a huge shout out to the Outdoor Education Class, and the Envirohawks for their tremendous efforts at our tree planting event yesterday. Together these amazing students planted 370 trees! Thank you for your efforts to help in the fight against climate change.
Congratulations to the Mountain Biking Team that competed at the Tree Nursery in Minesing yesterday. Everyone raced well. Special mention to Seamus K. for the best O.T.B. crash. Practice tomorrow at Hardwood.

Last night the Jr. Girls' soccer team had a battle for the ages in Collingwood. Despite giving up an early goal the Nighthawks never gave up the fight. Rhiannon W. and Emma H. played tremendous defence throughout. Early in the second half Jayla W. played a perfect corner into Angelica D. banged in the goal to equalize. Sydney W. did a commendable job stepping in as keeper in the second half and we came out with a 1-1 tie. Great job team, next action is Monday at Eastview.
Bark! Bark! Bark! Hey OSS! The grade 12 healthcare class will be running a Pet Supply Drive for 15 dogs/puppies that are being fostered just outside of Orillia. Many of these dogs have special needs and any donations would be greatly appreciated. Some examples of supplies that are needed are towels, blankets, dog food, cleaning supplies and puppy pads.
The drive will be happening from May 13th- May 26th, there will be a table in the front foyer to drop any donations.
